Little Norway closes for 2013 season

After 75 years of sharing the world’s largest collection of Norwegian artifacts found outside the country, Little Norway will close its doors for the 2013 season to reevaluate its funding options.

According to its website, the historic site will spend the following months working with advisers and foundations to decide its future, including a possible ownership change. The Dahle family has operated Little Norway for the last five generations.

The site hopes to reopen its doors for the 2014 season. Updates will be posted to its website at Its online gift shop will remain open.

    The WISC-TV studio parking lot was busy with hundreds of viewers bringing their sensitive documents to be destroyed as part of Shredfest with the Better Business Bureau Saturday morning.

    A combined 1,295 cars dropped off bags of papers at WISC-TV on Raymond Road and SVA Certified Public Accountants firm on John Q. Hammons Drive.

    News 3 and Better Business Bureau team members unloaded bags of documents from viewers' cars and Pellitteri Waste Systems' Data Destruction team put the papers into the shredding trucks.
