News happens every day, in every neighborhood, and affects everyone, and the News 3 newsroom wants your help covering what matters to you. The Channel 3000 Street Team is made up of anyone who wants to hear about and contribute to community and breaking news.

As a member of our Street Team you will get exclusive notifications of breaking news and news happening close to you. Then you’ll get the opportunity to contribute to our coverage by sending pictures, videos and information in to our newsroom.

We know those closest to the news have opportunities to get better pictures and videos faster. So we hope the Street Team will help elevate our community coverage by being our eyes in the community. We’ll use your content online, on our social media accounts and even give you a shout out during one of our broadcasts.

What does it take to be on the Street Team?

After you sign up, you’ll get notifications from our newsroom reporting breaking news or community events. In those notifications we’ll ask you to send us pictures or videos of what you’re seeing if you’re nearby. You’ll also be able to contact us if you have tips about something going on where you are.

What will I get notifications for?

We can’t predict what type of breaking news will happen, but we might ask for pictures of a fire in Middleton, a bad traffic backup on the Beltline, a summer festival in Stoughton or fans reacting on State Street to the Badgers beating a conference rival.
