A 7-year-old dog in Connecticut has spent her entire life in a shelter.

But with the help of a special trainer and rescue group, Tanya is hoping for one last shot at adoption.

"She’s literally the dog that time forgot," Elli Frank of the nonprofit animal welfare group Mr. Bones & Company, Inc. told Hartford TV station WTIC.

Tanya was dropped off at the pound in Yonkers, N.Y., as a small puppy and has remained in various shelters ever since.

Frank launched a YouTube campaign to get Tanya adopted in November 2013.

But several rescue groups and individuals backed out.

"When the day came for them to come pick her up, they literally never showed up. Three times," Frank told WTIC.

It's not Tanya's fault, he says, adding she's very playful and hungry for fun, though would do best in a home without any other dogs.

Check out Tanya's profile on the Mr. Bones & Company website.
