MILTON, Wis. -

The Milton Town Board decided Monday night to hold a hearing in the next few weeks to try to revoke a local bar's license.

The Countryside Inn Tavern in rural Milton has been the scene of two reported shootings in the last eight months. The most recent shooting was reported two weeks ago.

"The sheriff's office hopes that Mr. Erdmann changes his business model either voluntarily or involuntarily," Rock County Sheriff's Office Capt. Jude Maurer said.

Police have also responded to fights following dance parties at the bar, but the owner insists he’s not to blame.

"A lot of things don't add up. And all I'm saying to Capt. Maurer is that I believe that somebody was shot. He wasn't shot at my front door, and he wasn't shot at the time he said,” Countryside Inn owner Rich Erdmann said. "So where was he shot? Why is he lying? I don't the answer to that."

The first shooting prompted the town to consider a point demerit system that could lead to sanctions or liquor license revocation for bars that violate the terms.
