'Assault' is really just one amorous pig

Published On: Feb 05 2014 10:12:34 AM CST

Police responding to reports of screaming in a small Maine town don't find domestic violence, as feared, but an amorous pig.

A woman in the town of China called police after hearing what thought were screams coming from a home nearby, the Kennebec Journal reported.

Four state troopers responded, and discovered the homeowner raised pigs.

After speaking with her, troopers wrote the following in their report:

"The homeowner stated her male pig was screaming because he was in a pen with five other female pigs in heat" and there was no issue at the home "other than the screaming male pig."
