Wauwatosa Police Officer Jennifer Sebena was shot and killed Christmas Eve while on duty.

MILWAUKEE -

A nonprofit group in Washington, D.C., has voted to add the name of a Milwaukee-area police officer to a national memorial honoring officers killed in the line of duty.

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund had previously excluded Wauwatosa police Officer Jennifer Sebena. That's because even though the 30-year-old was fatally shot while on duty Dec. 24, the suspect in the shooting is Sebena's husband, which could make her death a case of domestic violence.

But after pressure from Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, the Wisconsin Professional Police Association and others, the group reversed its decision Wednesday.

WPPA spokesman Jim Palmer voted to include Sebena's name on the memorial in the national capital.

Palmer said the final vote was 15 to 0.
