In an attempt to thwart vandalism, a school in eastern Pennsylvania is making boys ask for toilet paper.

Boys at Mahanoy Area High School in Mahanoy City must go to the school office to request toilet paper and sign it out, The Associated Press reported.

It's a policy officials hope will cut down on the number of toilets intentionally clogged by male students -- a major problem the past two years.

Some parents, however, aren't too keen on the idea.

Parent Karen Yedsena told the school board some students are too embarrassed to ask for toilet paper and are going home sick instead, the Republican-Herald of Pottsville reported.

District officials told her they aren't aware of any such incidents, but may consider changing the policy.

"I agree with you that it's a drastic measure," Smith told Yedsena, according to the Republican-Herald.
