A Racine police officer is on administrative duty after the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department said it stopped him on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department said the 40-year-old Racine police officer was netted in a weekend DUI patrol along with 25 other suspected drunken driving offenders.
Sheriff's officials said the officer was issued a citation for his first drunken driving offense. According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department, the officer registered a blood-alcohol content of 0.16 percent, twice Wisconsin's legal limit of 0.08 percent.
Racine police told The Journal Times the officer was taken off active patrol and placed on administrative duties until Racine police can confirm further details.
The officer's name was not released.
