Police investigate 2 Milwaukee killings

MILWAUKEE -

Police in Milwaukee are investigating two separate killings.

A suspect in one case is in custody Sunday. Both happened on Saturday afternoon.

Officers responding to a call around noon found a 31-year-old man lying dead on the ground with gunshot wounds. No suspects were immediately arrested.

Just 30 minutes later, officers responding to a citizen's report of a stabbing found a 21-year-old woman with a stab wound. She later died of her injury. The suspect is a 25-year-old woman whom police say had a confrontation with the victim.

    The WISC-TV studio parking lot was busy with hundreds of viewers bringing their sensitive documents to be destroyed as part of Shredfest with the Better Business Bureau Saturday morning.

    A combined 1,295 cars dropped off bags of papers at WISC-TV on Raymond Road and SVA Certified Public Accountants firm on John Q. Hammons Drive.

    News 3 and Better Business Bureau team members unloaded bags of documents from viewers' cars and Pellitteri Waste Systems' Data Destruction team put the papers into the shredding trucks.
