MADISON, Wis. -

A Madison man is sentenced to three years in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute marijuana.

Federal judge Barbara Crabb sentenced Joshua Campbell, 28, on Thursday. He pleaded guilty to the charge in November.

Prosecutors said Campbell was serving a term of extended supervision when, in July, it was revoked and he was returned to prison.

Campbell admitted to getting marijuana from a man who was sentenced to seven years in prison for possessing marijuana and using and carrying firearms in connection with a drug crime. Prosecutors said Campbell distributed marijuana with another man who is scheduled to plead guilty in February to possessing a firearm in connection with a drug crime.

Campbell is currently serving time on a state sentence. He’s scheduled to begin his federal sentence in May 2014.
