A judge had ordered a highly unusual sentence for a convicted drug dealer: complete a 5,000-word essay on the dangers of marijuana.

Terry Bennett, 32, from Gloucestershire, UK, is an admitted drug dealer. He was sentenced to 240 hours of unpaid work, but claimed an injury made that impossible, according to the Metro. That's when the alternative sentence was offered.

Bennett has until early April to finish the 5,000 word essay on the drug dangers and the effect of drugs on society. If he fails to complete the essay, he could go to jail for 12 months.
