WAUWATOSA, Wis. -

A national group that has delayed a decision to add a fallen Wauwatosa police officer's name to its Washington, D.C., memorial has already honored officers who were killed under almost identical circumstances.

A Milwaukee Journal Sentinel report cited research by the Wisconsin Professional Police Association, which wants Jennifer Sebena's name added to the memorial.

The memorial is run by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. The group has postponed a decision on Sebena. She was killed while on duty but the suspect is her husband, which would make her death a case of domestic violence.

But the police association said a Kentucky officer whose name is on the memorial died in 1977 under nearly the same circumstances.

Gov. Scott Walker is among those appealing to the Washington group.
