An Edgerton man was arrested after being pursued by Edgerton police early Thursday, according to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office.
An Edgerton police officer said the pursuit started at 3:20 a.m. when a vehicle failed to stop when the officer attempted to stop the vehicle for operating without headlights on.
The chase went south on Highway 51 out of Edgerton and sheriff’s deputies said they were called on to deploy stop sticks.
The pursuit reached speeds up to 70 mph, according to the deputies.
The vehicle struck two sets of stop sticks, three tires deflated and the vehicle came to a stop at the intersection of Highway 51 and Highway 14.
Christopher J. Barrett, 22, of Edgerton, was arrested on suspicion of operating under the influence, prohibited alcohol concentration and knowingly fleeing an officer.
He’s scheduled to appear in court Friday.
