Blizzard 2012

MADISON, Wis. -

Madison residents will have an opportunity to dispose of tree limbs resulting from last week’s blizzard.

The city of Madison plans to start tree limb collection Jan. 7, the same day it begins collection of Christmas trees.

Trees should be out for collection by 7 a.m. Jan. 7 to be part of the first round of collection.

A second round of collection is tentatively scheduled for Jan. 22.

City officials said collection won’t start before Jan. 7 because of the holidays and because crews are cleaning up from the storm.

Tree limbs left for collection should be less than 8 feet long and less than 8 inches in diameter. Brush that was cut by contractors will not be collected.

Brush can also be brought to the city’s drop sites at 1501 W. Badger Rd. and 4602 Sycamore Ave. on weekdays between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
