Attempted robbery reported at Madison Walgreens

MADISON, Wis. -

Madison police say an attempted robbery occurred at a Walgreens Thursday night.

A woman said she had just finished shopping at the Walgreens on Acewood Boulevard., when a man, who had been lurking outside, grabbed her by the arm.

She had purchases in one hand and her wallet in the other.

Police believe the attacker was trying to get the wallet.

The woman screamed, and he ran off empty handed.

Police describe the attacker as a black man in his 20s, 5 feet 11 inches, slender to average build, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.
