TOWN OF EASTON, Wis. -

Two people were killed in a fire Monday morning, according to officials in the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.

Emergency crews were called to the 1400 block of Evergreen Court in the town of Easton at 1:39 a.m. for a report of a structure fire.

Deputies found a resident outside the structure and it was fully engulfed when they arrived. The resident was taken to Moundview Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries and was later taken to another facility, according to deputies.

Two other residents were not able to escape the fire and were pronounced dead by the Adams County Medical Examiner’s Office.

"Once the fire was put out, we found that there were two people, as we would say at this time, as a result of the fire but that's still under investigation as the cause of the deaths," said Sam Wollif with the Adam's County Sheriff's Office.

According to the Adam's County Sheriff's Office, one of the bodies was found in a camper and the other in a mobile home. It's not clear if they were owned by the same person.

Foul play is not suspected.

The names of the victims are not being released pending the notification of family.

"We haven't determined the cause of the fire or the origin of the fire at this time. We believe we know who was supposed to be at the residence; however, we want to confirm the identity of the victims before we release any further information about that," said Wollif.

The fire is under investigation by the Adams County Fire District, Adams County Sheriff, Adams County Medical Examiner’s Office and the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
