WASHINGTON -

Auburndale, Wisconsin native Jordan Zimmermann pitched six innings and won his 12th game of the season as the Washington Nationals defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 10-5 in Washington Monday night.

Zimmermann became the major league's first 12-game winner, despite giving up four runs and nine hits.

Brewers' starter, Yovani Gallardo, had another rough outing. He allowed eight runs on nine hits and two walks in three-plus innings of work.

Washington's Jayson Werth went 2 for 5 with 5 RBI.

Bryce Harper came off the disabled list and hit a home run in his first at bat for the Nationals.

The Brewers did manage 11 hits including consecutive homers by Rickie Weeks and Juan Francisco in the sixth inning and eventually pulled to within 8-5.

But the Nationals scored twice in the bottom of the eighth off Johnny Helwig.

The Brewers are now 32-49 on the season, 13-26 on the road.
