Another winter storm will bring accumulating snowfall to southern Wisconsin starting Friday night.
News 3 meteorologist Bob Lesh said this large storm will move by to the southeast, bringing heavy snowfall through northern Illinois and moderate snow through southern Wisconsin.
Snow will begin Friday night and continue through Saturday afternoon before coming to an end. There is a Winter Weather Advisory for the area south of a line from Grant to Dodge counties for Friday night through 6 p.m. Saturday. We can expect 3-5 inches of snow within the advisory area, with slightly lesser amounts to the northwest.
Winds should be lighter with this system, and the snow will not be as fluffy, so blowing and drifting will be less of a concern.
Travel will be affected around the area as snow amounts to the southeast, including Chicago, could be as high as 10 to 12 inches with snowfall rates of 1-2 inches an hour at times.
