MADISON, Wis. -

Madison Metropolitan School District’s first quarterly review on the implementation of its strategic framework was released Monday.

According to the review, MMSD is following through on the implementation of the framework.

“Our strategic framework starts with the vision that every school will be a thriving school that prepares every student for college, career and community. We are aggressively working to make that vision a reality, and we are off to a strong start,” Superintendent Jennifer Cheatham said in the release. “As we do this work, we are committed to reporting to the public on our progress -- celebrating where we are successful, acknowledging our challenges and planning our next steps.”

The district completed reviews of progress at all levels, from school teams and the central office to the Board of Education, officials said.

The quarterly review focuses on execution in three areas, including school improvement plans that define every school’s focus and goals for all students; common learning across the district that further enables educators to make the best possible decisions for children; and progress on a clear set of priorities aimed at providing schools with the systems and support to serve children and their families better.

“Our educators and support staff have worked hard to jumpstart this work over the past few months,” Cheatham said. “If we stay focused on our vision, and follow through on the work in our strategic framework, we know we will produce positive results for all students.”

The full quarterly review is available online.
