Found safe: Missing Minn. girl believed to be in Middleton

Middleton police said at noon Tuesday the Minnesota girl officers had been looking for in Middleton was safe.

Middleton police said Brandi Fleming, 17, was found in Madison Tuesday after running away from home in Coon Rapids, Minn.

According to the Middleton Police Department, Fleming's stepmother told authorities her step-daughter was on a bus to Chicago. When the bus stopped in Milwaukee, Fleming got off, but never got back on.

Fleming's stepmother tracked her phone to Middleton where a local cab had dropped her off at an apartment complex last week, officials said.

Officials interviewed people from the apartment complex and continued looking for her into Tuesday when she was found.

Polcie said Fleming has been returned to her parents.
