Middleton improves to 5-1

Middleton started their season on a low note; a blowout loss to Memorial at home. Since then, the Cardinals haven't lost. In our Game of the Week Friday night, Middleton jumped all over Verona early and held off the Wildcats 35-28.

Kasey Miller hit Derek Rongstad to give Middleton a 20-7 lead. Later, Verona answers. Jon Tacket to Mitch Flora cuts the Middleton lead to 6. Tacket and Flora hooked up again for another touchdown to take the lead 21-20.

Later, with the game tied at 28, Charles Braxton found the end zone for Middleton to go ahead 35-28. Then, with Verona driving, Bryan Chapman snags an interception to ice the game for Middleton. 

With the win, the Cardinals improve to 5-1. They play Sun Prairie next week.
