Middleton, Cleary lead WIAA golf regional

MIDDLETON -

Middleton won the WIAA Division One girls golf regional on its home course as Sheenagh Cleary shot 74 to tie Verona's Jessica Reinecke for the individual title.

The Cardinals (315)  won the team title by 13 shots over Madison Memorial (328). Verona (340) and Portage (362) also advanced their teams to the sectional meet next week at Odana Hills.

Only four players shot under 80, including Cleary, Reinecke, Verona's Bailey Smith (78) and Middleton's Loren Skibba (79).
