Published On: May 10 2014 09:54:52 PM CDT

EVANSTON, Ill. -

Wisconsin softball thought they had it in the bag Saturday against Michigan. UW had played their way to a 3-2 lead in the seventh inning of their Big Ten Tournament semifinal contest. But it was not to be. Michigan rallied to score a 4-3 triumph and advance to the Big Ten Tournament final.

Chloe Miller hit a home run to give the Badgers the lead in the top of the seventh.

Michigan wasn't done. Nicole Sappingfield hit a fly ball into right. Michelle Mersch couldn't get their in time, crashed into the wall, and Sappingfield earned an RBI double.

Moment later, the Wolverines put runners on second and third base. Caitlin Blanchard seized the moment. Blanchard slapped a fair ball into shallow left field. That scored the game clinching run, giving Michigan a 4-3 win.
