Memorial wins 14th state swim and dive championship

MADISON, Wis. -

Madison Memorial swim and dive continued their dynastic run Saturday at the UW Natatorium, winning their fourth consecutive Boys State Swim and Dive Championship and 14th overall. 

Memorial racked up 319 points with Madison West's total of 216.5 good for second place. 

The Spartans won four event titles. In the 200 medley relay, John Hornacek, Amos Kaldor, Justin Temprano, and Ben Gebhart won in a time of 1:33.92. 

The 200 free style relay team of Sam Szotkowski, Nathan Eckerle, Ryan Menninga and Alex Peterson-Weber won in a time of 1:25.42.

Gerhart pitched in with a championship in the 100 butterfly while Temprano added another in the 100 backstroke.
