MaryAnn Loasching

JANESVILLE---MaryAnn Loasching, age 78, of Janesville, died Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Janesville on Jan. 5, 1935, the daughter of Charles and Marian (Volbrecht) Press. MaryAnn married Wayne H. "Buck" Loasching on Jan. 15, 1955 in Janesville. He preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 1999.

She was employed by Jupiter and later K-Mart for many years. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and enjoyed spending time at the cabin up north and her occasional visits to the casinos.

She is survived by her 4 children: David Loasching of North Fort Meyers, FL, Kim (Mark) Nightingale of Janesville, Jim (Diane) Loasching of Liberty, MO, and Sally (Jeff) Palmer of Milton; 8 grandchildren: Brian Loasching, Julie (Mark) Jenson, Bradley Loasching, Todd Smith, Michelle Muth, Matthew (friend, Jasmine) Smith, Steve (Pam) Nightingale, and Lisa (fiance', Jon) Nightingale, 9 great grandchildren; 2 brothers and 2 sisters: Bill (Elaine) Press, Jim (Betsy) Press, Charlene (Bob) Hefty, and Linda (Jeff) Weis all of Janesville; brother-in-law, Vernon Loasching; as well as a special friend with whom she spent winters in Florida, Walt Pfeiffer of Janesville. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Ricky Press; and brother-in-law, Ed Loasching.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY with Rev. Jerry Amstutz officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Mercy Cancer Center, especially Dr. Shekhani and Amanda Johnson, Dr. Kozak and his nurses, as well as the Mercy Hospice staff, especially Jenny and Crystal.
