Mary Ann Bloom, 74, of Platteville died on Friday, July 19, 2013, at her home in Platteville.

Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Pastor Mary Ann Floerke will officiate. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville.

Memorials may be made to the Mary Ann Bloom Memorial Fund.

Mary Ann was born on March 8, 1939 in Platteville the daughter of Joseph and Florence (Kopp) Howell.

She was united in marriage to Kenneth “Kenny” Bloom, Sr. on August 8, 1959 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Platteville. Kenny preceded her in death on November 4, 2006.

Mary Ann worked at the Old Homestead, Rewey, Platteville Golf and Country Club, Hometowne Bakery and Opto Technology, Platteville. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Rebekah’s, VFW Auxiliary and John Deere Retirees. She enjoyed doing crafts, going to the dog track in Dubuque, playing euchre, bingo and going to the Platteville Senior Center.

She is survived by her five children, Cheryl (Willie) Wilson of Horicon, WI; Tammy Bloom of Davenport, IA; Lori (Paul) Benson of Belmont, WI; Butch (Lynnette) Bloom of Platteville; Karla (Matt) Cammack of Rewey, WI; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Joyce McDermott of Platteville; Connie (Bill) Eisle and Betty (Steve) Staskal all of Livingston, WI; Bev (Randy) Gobin of Maquoketa, IA; two brothers, Robert (Debbie) Howell of Platteville; Tony (Delores) Howell of Springfield, MO; brothers-in-law, Ed Getter of Madison; Wayne Payne of Livingston; sister-in-law, Marla Grover of Madison and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death also by her parents, infant son, Peter Joseph in 1967, brothers, Joseph “Bud”, Dale “Dick” and John Arthur Howell, sisters, Pat Molzoff, Ruby “Jane” Allen, Judy Getter, Janet Payne, Ruthie and her husband Dick Johnson, and brothers-in-law, Barney McDermott and Arkie Molzoff.
