Marie (Parmer) Sargent-Smith

Marie (Parmer) Sargent-Smith, age 55, of Brodhead, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at her home.

She was born on June 21, 1958 in Ft. Worth, IN, the daughter of Louie and Laurine (Klossner) Parmer.

Marie had lived in Beloit and Brodhead and was a caregiver for REM. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Brodhead and enjoyed the Miami Dolphins, Stateline Playboys, playing bingo and dice.

She is survived by the love of her life, Delbert Henke and his family, Beloit; mother, Laurine Klossner, Brodhead; children, Kim Baxter (Mike), Brodhead, Jen Shere (Elmo), Monroe, Josh Carpenter, Beloit; two sisters, Pat Ferguson, Orfordville, Linda (Robert) Sprague, Brodhead; six grandchildren, Annabelle, Brielle, Kayla, Zayden, Cason and Kalynn. She was preceded in death by her father, stepfather, Walter Klossner, best friend and cousin, Donna Parmer, and a niece, Penny Sprague.

Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, July 29, 2013, at the Congregational United Church of Christ, Brodhead, with Pastor Peder Johanson officiating. Burial will be in Greeenwood Cemetery, Brodhead. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church. A memorial fund will be established.
