Marie E Bellows

Marie E. Bellows, 92 of New Lisbon, WIsconsin formerly of Mauston passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Crest View Nursing Home, New Lisbon.

Marie was born in the Town of Bear Lake, Barron County, Wisconsin on November 6, 1920 the daughter of Nicholas and Margaret (Blume) Thome.

Marie graduated in 1938 from Cumberland High School.

Marie was united in marriage to Lester E. Bellows on February 7, 1942 at St. Joseph’s Rectory in Rice Lake.

Marie was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church since they moved to Mauston in 1949. Marie enjoyed cooking and baking for her children and grandchildren and always had a stash of goodies in the “Basement Frig”. She enjoyed her gardening and her flower beds. Marie was always willing to help her family whether it was moving, welcoming a new baby or helping with whatever. She also enjoyed going to and having garage sales. Marie loved to dance and the polkas were her favorite.

She is survived by her children James (Carlyn) Bellows of Lyndon Station, John Bellows of Desert Hot Springs, CA, Margaret Twitchell of Reedsburg, a daughter–in-law Julie Bellows of Mauston, her grandchildren Joe(Jennifer) Bellows, Ron (Stacy) Bellows, Josh (Amy) Twitchell, Abbie (Scott) Kaufman, Jeff (Mandy) Twitchell, Tom Twitchell, Cory (Donna) Bellows, David Bellows, Rachel (Greg) Gollmer, her great grandchildren Amber, Tayler, Silas, Madison, Molly, Taytan, Logan, Brinley, Emily and Allison, her sister-in-law Mildred Thome and other relatives and friends. Marie was godmother to Bob Linder, Phillip Thome, Josh Twitchell and Todd Spencer.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband Lester E. Bellows, her son Dave Bellows, a son-in-law Larry Twitchell, a grandson Nicholas, her sisters Theona and Eleanor and her brother Edmund.

Marie is going home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 19, 2013 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Cumberland, WI, where friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery, Cumberland.
