Man crashes car into light pole; suspected of OWI

MADISON, Wis. -

A passenger was injured when a car driven by a suspected drunken driver crashed into a utility pole, according to a release from Madison police.

Officers said the car driven by David J. Coleman, 30, smashed into the pole on Atwood Avenue Sunday evening. A 28-year-old man resident told police he had to jump out of the way to avoid being struck by the car.

A 38-year-old man who was a passenger in the car was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Coleman was arrested on suspicion of second-offense operating while intoxicated.
