MADISON -

The Madison Mallards had a great weekend.

Friday, the Northwoods League announced that five Mallards would play in the All-Star game next week. Infielder John LaPrise, outfielder Drew Weeks, and pitchers Sam Forkert, Hunter May, and Luke Staube all made the team.

Friday in Mequon, the Mallards resumed a previously suspended game with Lakeshore. The game picked up in the 16th inning, and the Mallards won it 5-4 in the 21st. The game was the longest in league history.

Friday night, the Mallards played another game against Lakeshore and scored a lopsided 7-1 victory.

Saturday the Chinooks struck back, beating the Mallards 3-0.

Sunday, the Mallards returned home to Warner Park to face the Chinooks again. Madison got on the board in the first inning with a Weeks single scored Mike Matheny. Jason Goldstein delivered a solo home run in the 6th inning to give the Mallards a 4-2 win.
