MADISON, Wis. -

Police have asked for help identifying a man in surveillance images in connection with an armed robbery Monday.

The Madison Police Department shared two surveillance stills from a robbery at Deon's convenience store on Madison's east side at 9:28 p.m.

According to police, a man entered the store in the 2300 block of Commercial Avenue, displayed a weapon and demanded money before running away from the store.

In one of the photos police provided Friday morning, a silver handgun is visible in the robber's hand.

Police described the man as black and between 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was wearing dark clothing.

Police asked that anyone with information on the robbery call Crime Stoppers at 266-6014.
