Lucille Ruth "Cele" Harrell


Lucille “Cele” Ruth (Wilhelm) Harrell, age 88, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at her daughter’s home in Missouri.

She was born on Sept. 30, 1924, in Madison, the daughter of Fred and Nellie Wilhelm. Lucille graduated from Central High School. She worked for the State of Wisconsin starting at the Attorney General’s office and retired from the Public Service Commission Office.

Lucille enjoyed traveling, reading, playing cards, bird watching, and gardening. Her passion was her family and family get-togethers.

Lucille is survived by her three daughters, Susan (Adolph) Krantz of Cottage Grove, Karen (Gary) Hess of Nixa, Mo., and Jacki (Dave) Pedersen of Madison; grandchildren, Steve (Mallary) Krantz, Melanie (Chad) Spencer, Brian (Selina) Pedersen, Lindsay (Kenny) Tiry, Lauren Hess, and Kelsey Hess; five great-grandchildren; and siblings, Dorothy (William) Bechtel, Robert Wilhelm, and Mary Jean Ahrens. She was preceded in death by her son, Gene; her parents; sister, Virginia (Robert) Kiefer; brothers-in-law, Robert Kiefer and Calvin Ahrens; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Wilhelm. A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013.
