Lourdes A. Anderson, age 79, of Madison, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2014 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg from pancreatic cancer. She handled her health challenges with grace and courage over the past seventeen months.

She was born on October 12, 1934 to Robert and Adeline Meinholz of Cross Plains WI and was united in marriage to Henrick Anderson Jr on May 22, 1954.

Lourdes, a longtime member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church parish, volunteered countless hours helping those that were homebound. Lourdes and Hank enjoyed camping when their children were young and had fond memories of outings with the Queen of Peace camping group for many years. In her later years Lourdes continued to enjoy traveling with friends and family. Among her trips were a tour of Europe, cruises through the Panama Canal, the Caribbean, and an Alaskan cruise/bus tour.

She loved being with her children and grandchildren and attending their sports games. She also took great pleasure spending time with all her friends, visiting, playing cards, going to movies and plays, and out for dinner.

Lourdes was an avid sports fan, attending many UW Badger football games over the years including trips to the 1999 Rose Bowl and other bowl games. She also loved cheering for the Brewers, Packers and Badger basketball.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henrick Anderson Jr, an infant daughter, Jerilyn, and her parents.

She is survived by her children: Jill (Lanny) Kendall of Eckert, CO, Janelle (Richard) Orth of Madison, Joel (Karen) Anderson of Madison, James (Pauline) Anderson of Denver, CO, Jerry (Kim) Anderson of Vadnais Heights, MN. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jacob and Jesse Kendall, Nick and Riley Anderson, Quinn and Lily Anderson and great grandchildren: Joslyn and Wyatt Kendall.

She is also survived by siblings: Cornell (Arlene) Meinholz, Velda (Wayne) Thornton, Audrey Kerska, Chuck (Donna) Meinholz and Bruce Meinholz, along with many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday June 18, 2014 at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 401 S. Owen Dr. Madison with Msgr. Ken Fiedler presiding. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Also, thanks to the All Saints community and the staff at Agrace for their compassionate care of Lourdes. Special thanks to Lourdes' numerous friends and family for their prayers and support during this time.
