Lewina M. Nondorf, age 94, of Highland, passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Crestridge Assisted Living surrounded by her family. Lewina was born on March 30, 1920 in Highland to Joseph and Christine (Kreul) Hasburgh. She married Raymond Nondorf on December 26, 1944 and the couple farmed in the Highland area until retiring in 1992. Ray preceded her in death on July 15, 2009. Lewina was a member of Ss. Anthony & Philip Parish and Altar Society. Lewina loved to play cards with family and friends. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading and crossword puzzles. Her greatest joy was time spent with her children and grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sons, James in 1974 and David in 2012; a grandson, Ben Nondorf; a great grandson, Ethan Smith; a sister Margaret Wienkes; two brothers, Walter in infancy and Eugene Hasburgh; five brothers-in-law, Joseph Nondorf; Ray Wienkes; Harvey Richgels; Florian Bindl and George Imhoff; six sisters-in-law, Emily Hasburgh; Margaret Wienkes; Doris Hasburgh; Rita Hasburgh; Tootie Hasburgh and Florence Imhoff.

Lewina is survived by ten children, Joan (Delbert) Beckius; Richard (Mary) Nondorf;Jane (John) Tarrell; Mary Finley; Nancy (Jerry) Weier; John (Sherry) Nondorf; Joyce Nondorf; Donald (Rose Baker) Nondorf; Daniel (Lisa) Nondorf and Thomas Nondorf; a daughter-in-law, Sue Nondorf; 31 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; three brothers, John Hasburgh; Joseph (Mary) Hasburgh and Donald (Grace) Hasburgh two sisters, Helen Bindl and Marilyn (James) Williamson; sisters-in-law, Elaine Nondorf and Anna Mae Richgels as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Ss. Anthony & Philip’s Catholic Church in Highland. Fr. Jim Murphy will officiate with burial in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Thursday after 10:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the church would be greatly appreciated.
