Leland L. Diels

Leland L. Diels, 79, of Fort Atkinson, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 at Fort Memorial Hospital.

Leland was born on March 19, 1935 son of the late Lester and Marie (Baierl) Diels. He married Janice Strohbusch on January 19, 1957.

Leland was a great pizza maker, along with his wife they owned and operated Pizza Villa for more than 55 years. He enjoyed woodworking and being outside mowing the lawn. He loved listening to music and would often play his accordion. He had a passion for model trains and collecting antique cars. He will be remembered as being one of the most kind-hearted and dependable persons.

He is survived by his wife, Janice; children, Cindy (Michael) Stadtfeld, Crystal (Chester) Harris, Stacey Diels, Ronald Strohbusch and Allen Scardina; grandchildren, Heather (Steve) Strasberg, Emily (Antione) Gray, Melanie (Matt) Thurman and Bradley (Penny) Strohbusch; great grandchildren, Claire and Josh Strasberg, Kayla Thurman and Oscar Gray and brothers, Earl (Jaqueline) Diels and Glenn (Roberta) Diels. Leland was also preceded in death by his stillborn sister.

Private services will be held.

A celebration of life will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2014 in the Banquet Hall at Rock River Lanes, 1010 Larsen Road, Fort Atkinson.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Jefferson County.

The Dunlap Memorial Home in Fort Atkinson is assisting the family.
