GREEN BAY, Wis. -

A $146 million renovation project at Lambeau Field is nearly complete.

There are new video boards, sound system, suites, viewing platforms as well as 7,000 new seats and 30 new concession stands.

About 105,000 people were waiting for season tickets before the Packers started selling the new seats.

Packers spokesman Aaron Popkey says of the more than 5,000 people offered tickets, about 3,800 accepted them. He says 1,500 existing ticket holders chose to move to the new south end zone, which is general seating.

Stu Zadra of contractor Hammes Co. says the new seats will be ready for a July 18 open house.

The renovations started in 2011. In March, workers also started nearly $141 million in upgrades to the atrium, expected to be done in 2015.
