Joseph Thomas Scheidegger

Ridgeway - Joseph Thomas Scheidegger, age 30, of Ridgeway, died on Friday, June 7, 2013 at Bloomfield Manor in Dodgeville, from long term complications related to head injuries suffered in an automobile accident, by a drunk driver on September 5, 2011.
Joe was born July 5, 1982 in Madison, WI to Thomas and Glenda (Short) Scheidegger.
Joe attended area schools and was largely raised on the family farm. He loved all sports and was especially gifted at wrist wrestling and demolition derby. Joe was a hard worker who had great skills in a wide variety of areas including construction, landscaping and auto mechanics.
Joe is survived by his son, and greatest accomplishment, James R. Scheidegger; his parents Thomas J. and Glenda F. Scheidegger; sister Kysa F. Scheidegger; her children, Nevaeh, Kyler and Atira Joe; paternal grandmother Monica Weier; maternal grandparents Arthur and Charlotte Tibbs of Mentor, OH; and close friend Kristin Haag. He will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and the members of the Shag Enterprize demo team.
Joe was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ralph Scheidegger and beloved uncles Greg and Paul.
Thank you to the staff at Clearview Hospital in Juneau and Mundth Haven Home in Wisconsin Dells, for their efforts in the progress Joe made, attempting to recover in their care. A special thanks to Bloomfield Manor for their care and support in our final days with Joe.
A memorial service in Joe’s honor will be held on his birthday, July 5, at 11:00 am at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Ridgeway, WI. A private burial at St. Bridget's Catholic Cemetery will follow. A celebration of Joe's life will begin at 4:00 pm in Jonesdale.
