Joanne Bush died at home surrounded by family on May 26, 2013.

Born Dec 17, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois to John E. Kaiser and Emmeline Kaiser (Washick). She grew up in Kenosha, Wisconsin and graduated from Kenosha High School (Bradford) in 1945 where she was part of the Green Hornets Club, they still meet via chain letters. During her teens she attended Camp Manitowish in Boulder Junction, Wisconsin, and later was a counselor during her college summers. It was there; as well as at the family cabin that she learned her appreciation of the outdoors and wildlife.

She attended the University of Wisconsin and graduated in June of 1949 with a B.A. in Recreation and Group Leadership. She was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority. She was married in 1951 to her college beau, Henry H. Bush, Jr. They resided in Madison where she worked for two years at the State of Wisconsin Department of Agriculture.

She and Henry raised four children. Joanne was active in their schools and community activities during that time. When the children were grown she became a docent and guide at Cherokee Marsh and later the director of the Head Arboretum. She was a member of Attic Angels, a board member of the Gamma Phi Beta Alumnae Chapter, active in the Grace Church Altar Guild and Rector's Guild, and a partner of Busherry Estate Sales.

She enjoyed spending times with her friends at monthly Bridge Clubs and Sewing Club. Joanne and Henry went on many trips exploring the world. They always enjoyed revisiting history. She and Henry spent much time in the north woods in Three Lakes, Wisconsin. Many Christmas vacations were spent there with her brother John and family skiing at Sheltered Valley and Brule. They had fifty great years in the woods with the annual "Hunting" group and many seasons of Maple Syrup making with family and friends.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, her brother John E. Kaiser, Jr., and son Henry (Hu) H. Bush, III . She is survived by her husband, children; Jane B. Wierzba (James), John D. Bush (Laura), and Nancy B. Huber (William), and grandchildren; James, John and William Wierzba, John and Thomas Bush and Alycia Huber, her brother Peter E. Kaiser, many nieces and nephews, brother-in-law William Bush (Lynne) and sister-in-law Parnee Harned (Donne).

Private Burial will be held at a later date.
