Janeva E. Buchanan

LODI- Janeva E. Buchanan, age 97, of Lodi, died on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at Our House Senior Living.

She was born on May 18, 1916, in Poynette, the daughter of John and Ellen (Anderson) Jameson. Janeva was married to Leslie Buchanan in 1936 and together they lived on the farm where they raised their family. Later in life, she worked at Rayovac in Madison and Gansers Dime Store. She was a faithful member of First Lutheran Church in Lodi. Janeva and Leslie spent ten winters in Florida where she learned to fish. Janeva was a sweet, warm and loving person, who will always be remembered for her great chicken dinners and homemade rolls and pies.

Janeva is survived by her three children, Jordyce (Glenn) Getchel, Fay (Charles) Otto and Charles (Jean) Buchanan; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law; two nieces; and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie; son, Philip; two sisters, Norma and Alma Kvam; and two brothers-in-law, Bernie Sr. and Irvin Kvam.

Funeral services will be held at FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH, 206 Pleasant Street, Lodi, at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, with Rev. Michael Lee presiding. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday.

Memorials may be made in Janeva’s name to First Lutheran Church.
