Janet L. Gilbertson, age 64, of Madison passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013, at St. Mary’s Hospital.

She was born on Jan. 10, 1949, in Baltimore, MD, the daughter of Lawrence and Lela (Eagen) Russell. Janet was united in marriage to Richard Gilbertson on Sept. 30, 1994 in Madison.

Janet owned and operated the Ol' Brick Inn for 13 years and was recently employed as Team Leader #5 at Care Wisconsin. She enjoyed her Monday afternoon golf with her girlfriends and her Saturday and Sunday motorcycle rides with her group of motorcycle friends.

Janet is survived by her husband, Richard; daughter, Danielle (Shawn) Ott; grandchildren, Lauren and Alec West, Alysha and Bethany Ott; step-children, Christine Buss and Bryan (Shannon) Gilbertson; step-grandchildren, Brittany and Jason Buss; sisters, Elizabeth (Donald Wasielak) Russell, Judith Meehan, Patricia (Kevin) Warren, Dolores (Robert) Wilson; brother, David Russell; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A Time of Gathering will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2013.

Following, the family invites you to join them for friendship and spirits at 1855 Saloon, 218 S. Main St., Cottage Grove.

The family would like to thank the amazing staff at St. Mary’s Hospital.
