Janesville man charged with felony 4th OWI

JANESVILLE, Wis. -

Police said a traffic stop on suspicion of operating left of center Friday le d to a felony fourth-offense drunken driving charge for a Janesville man.

The Janesville Police Department said 62-year-old Rick Hesgard was driving a white Cadillac at 11:42 p.m. when an officer said Hesgard was operating his vehicle left of center.

Police said Hesgard made a wide turn from North Pontiac Drive on to Black Bridge Road and entered the oncoming lane of traffic.

The officer smelled the odor of intoxicants coming from Hesgard and Hesgard told the officer he had been drinking, according to the report. He failed field sobriety tests, police said.

Hesgard was charged with fourth-offense operating while intoxicated, operating after revocation and not having insurance.

Hesgard was taken to the Rock County Jail.
