Ione I. Pigorsch

Ione I. Pigorsch, age 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Karmenta Nursing Home.

She was born on November 25, 1928, in the Town of Poy Sippi, WI, the daughter of Eldor and Lillian (Dies) Moak. Ione married Lewis Pigorsch on July 12, 1947, in Auroraville, WI. He preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 1980.

She was a devoted and active member of Monona Evangelical Lutheran Church. Ione enjoyed the weekly bible club and belonged to several reading clubs. She had a variety of interests including art, painting, crossword puzzles, and cooking. Her love and generosity for her family was her priority and everyone knew she was always there for them.

Ione is survived by her children, Corey (Eileen) and Amy (Kevin) Bartels; her five grandchildren, Lauren, Justin, Sarah, Heather and Gracie; other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband Lewis, she was preceded in death by her son Tristan in 2008 and her sisters Ardis Moak and Evelyn Rucks.

Funeral Services will be held at MONONA EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 4411 Monona Dr., at 11am on Thursday, May 2, 2013, with Rev. William Pekari presiding.

Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 9:30 am until the time of services at the church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Karmenta for their loving care given Ione.
