JANESVILLE, Wis. -

The suspect in two Illinois murder cases appeared in Rock County court Monday afternoon.

Terence Doddy was caught after a high-speed chase Friday morning in Beloit, and faces charges of operating a vehicle under the influence in Rock County and separate charges of homicide and aggravated battery in Illinois.

Doddy is suspected of killing Tonya Bargman, of Monticello, Illinois, at a rest stop in Paw Paw, Illinois. He is also allegedly connected to the killing of Todd Hansmeier, whose body was found at a Rockford call center.

The state of Illinois requested Doddy be held on a $110,000 bail, but the court commissioner increased the bail amount, classifying Doddy as a flight risk.

“The court is not satisfied that the amount of bail requested by the state of Illinois is sufficient,” Barton said. “Accordingly, the court is going to impose a cash bail in this matter in the sum of $210,000.”

Police said Doddy led them on a 25-minute high-speed chase Friday that started in South Beloit and continued through the Wisconsin and Illinois border.

Rock County District Attorney Perry Folts said if Doddy waives his right to extradition, the state will issue a warrant from the governor to make sure he is extradited to Illinois where the killings took place.

Folts said Doddy was driving under the influence of cocaine when he was arrested. He said there could potentially be other charges issued from Rock County, but their primary concern is to see he is extradited back to Illinois.

Doddy is scheduled to be back in court July 25.
