Girls' softball: La Follette hands Sun Prairie first loss

Sun Prairie, Wis. -

Friday night La Follette played Sun Prairie in girls softball.

The story of this game is Lancers junior pitcher Nicole Newman. She had a no-hitter after five innings and only allowed one hit.

Newman also had a two RBI single in the 3rd inning to give La Follette a 3-1 lead.

Newman had 16 strike outs, including striking out the side in the 7th to end the game.

La Follette wins 3-1. It's the cardinals first loss in the big 8 this season.

The rematch is next Thursday in our Prep Mania Game of the Week.
