Shalla Moy scored the only goal of the game in the 72nd minute as Madison Memorial defeated Madison West, 1-0 in a Big Eight Conference girls soccer match at Mansfield Stadium Wednesday night.

The Spartans had a number of good scoring chances in the first half. Megan Johnson appeared to have scored a goal after a ball hit the crossbar, but the play was ruled offside.

Finally in the second half, Moy was able to strike a shot just inside the far post as Memorial held on to win, 1-0.

Madison West is the defending WIAA State Division One girls soccer champion.
