Former Dodgeville insurance agent convicted of fraud

MADISON, Wis. -

A 52-year-old Prairie Du Chien woman was sentenced to 18 months in prison on Friday for committing wire fraud.

Suzanne Gannon-Anderson was sentenced to 18 months in federal prison to be followed by three years of supervised release after a grand jury convicted her of six counts separate wire fraud transactions in November of 2012.

Gannon-Anders was the owner of SGA Insurance Services in Dodgville. She told customers and finance companies she would pay insurance premiums she received. Instead Gannon-Anderson deposited premiums into her personal accounts, failing to pay insurers or brokers as promised.

On several other occasions Gannon-Anderson was found to double finance insurance coverage keeping the second loan for herself. She was also known to obtain loans from companies for customers that never existed.

Gannon-Anderson was forced to sell her company. As a part of her sentence, she was ordered to pay the new owners over $250,000 in restitution.
