Field set for State Wrestling Finals

MADISON -

The field for Championship Saturday at the Kohl Center is set as Friday night's State Individual Wrestling semifinals are in the books. Let's go over a couple of local standouts. 

In the division one 152 pound weight class, Sun Prairie senior Jared Scharenbrock is in the state finals again.

Scharenbrock defeated Middleton's Shay Haase via tech fall 17-0. Scharenbrock won the 2013 Championship at the 145 pound weight class. 

Elsewhere in division one, at 120 Stoughton's Zach Hasselberger bested West Allis Central's Tere White 8-0. Also, Verona's Eric Schmid beat Casey Crangle of Menomonee Falls 9-5. 

In division two, Evanville/Albany's Jordan Meyer got a 13-4 major decision over Josh Verbeten of Wrightstown. 

In division three, Lancaster's scored an 8-2 decision over Ozaukee's Cole Large. 

The state finals begin Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Kohl Center.
