A Madison sleep shop is planning to close its doors.

Golde’s Futon Warehouse will start a going out of business sale on June 4, according to a release. The family-owned store at 6701 Seybold Rd. started in 1999.

Company officials cite declining customer traffic counts that started after a record-breaking year in 2010.

The store sold innerspring and foam mattresses, platform frames, futons and accessories.

“When local brick-and-mortar specialty stores close, customers lose the selection and customer service that they won’t find on the Internet or the big box megastores,” Joe Golde said in the release.
