Elmer F. Bergmann

OCONOMOWOC/COLUMBUS—Elmer F. Bergmann age 84, died on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the Columbus Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Columbus.

He was born on May 29, 1928 in the town of Lebanon to Elmer and Viola (Rohloff) Bergmann. Elmer served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and the Army Reserves for a completion of eight years of service. He owned and operated Oconomowoc Auto Body in Oconomowoc for 31 years where he was a member of the Special Police Force. Elmer was a member of St John Ev. Lutheran Church, Ixonia and member of the Solveson-Moos-Abrahamson VFW Post 2260 and the Oconomowoc Sportsmans Club. He was a motorcycle, snowmobile, antique car and John Deere tractor enthusiast. Elmer was married to Susan Green on January 10, 1987 in Rome, WI.

In addition to his wife, Elmer is survived by his two daughters, Theresa (Kreg) Reimer of Oconomowoc and Kathleen (Brian) Leitzke of Delavan; one son, William (Mary) of Watertown; ten grandchildren, Tiffany (Randy) Burg, Shondra Bergmann, Jacob Bergmann, Demirae Bergmann, Alyssa Bergmann, Jennifer (Timothy) Weber, Jeremy (Lori) Reimer, Anna Leitzke, Andrew Leitzke, Steven Bergmann; eleven great grandchildren, Yemaya Burg, Carter Burg, Isabella Burg, Oliver Burg, Iris Raabe, Logan Weber, Alexis Weber, Sawyer Reimer, Wyatt Reimer, Cevanna Reimer, Justin Burgmann; two sisters, Frances Motl and Lucille Zimdars both of Oconomowoc; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Edward; an infant daughter, Bernadette; three brothers, Kermit, Chester, Wilbur; one sister, Jeanette Duley.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 29, 2013 at ST JOHN EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, Ixonia. Rev. Allen Tetzlaff and Rev. Martin Stuebs will officiate. Interment will be in Glenview Memorial Gardens, Ixonia with military honors. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the church on Monday.
