1. An Apple A Day
Apples and citrus fruits such as grapefruits, oranges and lemons are rich in fiber, which helps your stomach feel full. Try apple slices with peanut butter for a snack that will tide you over until dinner.
2. The Right Carbs
Foods like beans, lentils, green bananas and cold potatoes (yes, cold) are rich in resistant starch, a carbohydrate that goes undigested and is stored in the large intestine. The process releases an acid that makes the body use stored fat for energy. They also keep you full for about an hour after eating.
3. Splash On Some Vinegar
Add a couple tablespoons of vinegar to a meal high in carbohydrates to thwart hunger between meals. The acetic acid in vinegar lowers the glycemic index of carbs, which will keep them from spiking your blood sugar and cut down on snacking and cravings.
